Field Trip

I always love going on field trips with the kids.  This year, Dalton's teacher told me that if I was going that we could sign up Olivia for an educational day and she could go on Dalton's field trip.  Well, I thought that was a great idea.  We went to the corvette museum and Chuck E. Cheese.  They had a great time!

Girl Scouts and Spring

We had a great time at the Girl Scout Cookies Sales.  These four girls played great together and the moms had a lot of fun, too.  Not sure what Maykalee is saying... 

The kids love the weather and riding their four wheelers.

Valentines' Birthday

So, Brian turned 37 on February 14th.  I couldn't resist with the heart shaped cupcake cake.  It was good!

We also had homemade lasagna and bread!

Big hugs and blowing out candles made this day special.  Not sure what Brian was trying to explain in this picture, but he looked very serious!

After all this, we exchanged Valentine's cards and gifts!

Updates

Well, Brian has successfully recovered from his knee surgery and has went back to work full-time.  He goes to the Law Enforcement Academy in March.  I don't know what I will do for 18 weeks... the entire summer. 

I'm trying to stay positive and supportive while we begin this new adventure.  At least that's what I'm telling myself!!  Wish me Luck!!      

Another Snow Day

This was the prettiest snow we've had so far.  As I was driving past my house, I just had to have a picture.

Christmas 2010

Christmas 2010 brought a lot of blessings to our home. I am so thankful that I could be together with my family and make some great Christmas memories.

Dalton was thanking Daddy for telling Santa that he needed some boxing gloves. 

Olivia was excited about all her gifts, especially the ipod touches that Santa brought for her and Dalton.  Those have been a big hit.  Speaking of big hits, I accidently knocked Dalton's ipod out of his hand on our tile floor before I could get a case for it..  Luckily it can be repaired.   

Yes, my children are spoiled, I know that and I wish that wasn't the case, but when only children marry and have the only grandchildren, grandparents tend to go overboard.  My parents bought these for the kids.  They have had a ball.  They thought it was really cool taking them out on Christmas Day in the snow.

You may notice that Brian has a brace on his knee.  He had exploratory knee surgery on the 22nd, 5 days later woke up with tendontitis and gout in his ankle (one the knee was operated on and apparently caused by the trauma of kneed surgery) and was again not able to walk...  So after many steriods, he is finally able to walk without crutches and his knee is healing beautifully.  I would not recommend scheduling any surgeries on Christmas Vacation...  I felt like the Griswolds, one bad thing after another. 

We also had Christmas with the Doyle's (Darren, Debbie, Madison and Alyssa).  It's a tradition we started a couple of years ago and I look forward to it every year.  The kids always play so good together and we get to visit with our dear friends.    

Even with all the craziness, we also had a Pre New Year's eve celebration. We played Catch Phrase and ate way too much food.  We had a great time.  Missy, please tell Chris that all his chocolate no bake cookies were delicious!!  He can make them anytime and bring them to my house!

Happy 8th Birthday Dalton!!

On December 13th, 2002, I was blessed with a little boy named Dalton Blake.  I waited all day for his arrival and he finally showed up at 9:55 pm on Friday the 13th (yes, but it was not unlucky in the least).  He is so smart, he amazes me everyday.  I'm so proud of him. I'll share this, when they were writing what they were thankful for on Thanksgiving, Dalton wrote that he was "thankful for church because without it he would never get saved".  For the times when you think they are not paying attention, they will surprise you.  I'm proud that he knows the difference between right and wrong, loves his little sister (and let's her tag along) and is this wild and crazy little boy that fills our life with laughter. 

Dalton wanted an ice cream cake.  He said that he saw one with a construction theme.  Well, luckily Dairy Queen cake through.  Beware though, don't get blue icing...everyone had blue mouths.  I told them it was a trick cake.

Dalton had a few buddies to stay the night.  I think they stayed up all night...  I caught them playing Wii at 12:30 am...

If you'll notice in the background, Olivia has already been sampling the blue icing.
