Class of 2022

Class of 2022, is that possible??  I can't believe it.  I was okay until Lesley read the poem at the end and I cried.  I couldn't help it.  Olivia has had the sweetest class.  She has learned so much. 

Lesley said that they tried to think of the thing that stood out with each student and gave an award accordingly.  They hit the nail on the head when they gave Olivia the "Best on the Monkey Bars Award".  She does the same thing at home and has the callouses to prove it.  I think she has stolen Dalton's baseball hitting gloves so she can improve her technique. 

Olivia just loved Mrs. Lesley.  She always came in talking about Sawyer and Griffin.  I felt like I knew them personally and wanted to tell them Hi when I saw them in the hallways.  Maybe we'll see you again in third grade Mrs. Lesley.

Olivia made some really good friends this year (Emma Grace and Lilly).  The little girls were dressed so pretty today. 

Olivia is looking forward to a new year with some of the same kids next year in Mrs. Monica's class.  Dalton had Mrs. Monica this year and loved her.  Hopefully it will be another great year.   

I'm Thankful

Twelve years ago today I was so scared at starting this incredible journey in my life.  Being married has been incredible.  I have two healthy children and a wonderful husband, a good job and a church family that is always there for me.  I know that I'm truly blessed and I thank God for that.  He's the only one that I can thank.  I know that my life is good because of him.  I was feeling all bad because I had to leave today to go to Nashville for a training class that starts tomorrow morning, but I decided that I shouldn't dwell on having to leave.  I should focus on the fact that I have a family that loves me and I love them and this sadness is because I don't want to miss a minute in my family's life;  I want to be at the heart of it.  So, I'm thankful to be a mommy and a wife and I feel there are a lot of mothers out there that feel the same way.  The more years that go by, the more I appreciate all the things my mother did for me.  One of the most important things she did for me was making sure I knew the Lord and leading me down a path toward salvation.  So, I'm thankful for so many things today.  Happy Mother's Day.   

Take me out to the Ballgame..

Well, having two kids playing ball is insane. It seems like we have practices or games every night, even practices on Wednesdays (which I boycott because of prayer meeting). I thought that was an unspoken rule in Edmonson Co. Anyway, they seem to really enjoy it. Dalton moved up a league and it is very different than T-Ball. Oh how I miss T-ball. Wait a minute, I don't have to miss it, Olivia's playing that. Anyway, I don't know how you parents do it that have kids that are involved in sports year around. It would take a lot of getting used to. Even if the smile below seems to be worth all of it.

Easter 2010

We woke up extremely early on Easter Sunday to go to sunrise services. God blessed us with a wonderful service and a lot of heartfelt testimonies. When returned home, the Easter Bunny had come to visit. Needless to say, we had chocolate bunnies for breakfast.

Olivia gets really shy around the camera most of the time, so when I get shots of her really cheesing for the camera, I have to post it.

We spent about an hour at home and it was back to church for Sunday School. The kids didn't complain that they had to get dressed up yet again. We stopped at Brian's grandma's house to get some pictures before Sunday school. It was such a pretty day.

Let the Egg Hunt begin....

Olivia really hasn't mastered the cutthroat art of egg hunting... she only found four.

Olivia and her best buddy Alyssa. Aren't they cute? Again, why are we shy about smiling in public? Maybe I shouldn't have posed my subjects, just like Jessica said in her posts about photography. I need to practice.

Ever Have One of those Days?

Well, it's been a while since my last post. Christmas was great, ate way too much, got so many gifts and everything was loads of fun. Had a great New Years spent with my friends at my house with lots of food and lots of "Catch Phrase" . I love that game. Let's see, Valentines was nice, also my husbands birthday, so he got a Blue Ray Player and I got a dozen red roses. Took pictures of the beautiful flowers, but hence my camera is at home with all my pictures.

That takes me down to today. Well, I live 30 minutes away from work and when I got to work I discoverd that I left my purse at home. That's a terrible feeling, no credit cards, no license and not a bit of money to my name. It was such a disturbing feeling. I admit I could have drove back home, but I thought of the gas it takes to go 30 miles in my big SUV and decided to suffer. I did however find a blank check in my desk drawer, I was saved. I took it over to my local bank and they gave me cash (like when you needed cash before we had ATMs I suppose)!! Yeah!! I thought I was going to have to face the Lean Cuisine meal that has been in the work freezer for a month..... So, please don't be caught in this situation I'm in. Really it's no big deal, but not a great feeling.

Birthday Festivities

Happy Birthday!!

Dalton turned 7 on December 13th (actually born on Friday, 13th--one of the luckiest days of my life). When I first heard his heartbeat on the ultrasound machine, I was so overjoyed. I had two miscarriages before I got pregnant with him, so he was my miracle baby. Every year he celebrates his birthday opening presents by the Christmas tree. Must be like having a double Christmas for him. I'm so proud of the little guy he has turned out to be.

It was so great to hear Dalton read all his birthday cards. He can read anything, it's amazing. Thank you Mrs. Lesley for seeing his potential and pushing him to read. He loves it.

On a side note, Dalton took a trip to the orthodontist on Monday. He has to have braces/expanders put on the top of his mouth to correct a crossbite. He has to wear it about six months. He will be a trooper, he always is. Olivia has the same problem, so in a couple of years, I'm sure I will be going through the same thing!!

Thanksgiving Weekend

I know it's past Thanksgiving weekend, but thought I would post anyway. We went to Indianapolis the weekend of Thanksgiving to visit Brian's cousin and some of his other relatives. While we were up there, we took the kids to two different places that kids definitely have fun. The first one was called "BouncerTown". It was like a huge Chuck E. Cheese plus inflatables. They had a great time. The second place was called "Incredible Pizza". Incredible Pizza was incredible just like it's name. They had indoor mini golf, indoor bumper cars, indoor go carts, indoor (kid sized) bowling and a huge area that had nothing but games and a huge (you guessed it) pizza buffet. When you came in the door, they asked how much you wanted to spend and they loaded a card, which you used to swipe all the machine and after you swiped it, it told you the total remaining on the card. So, no messing with tokens. I thought it was very high tech. Check it out if you are ever in Indianapolis. www.incrediblepizza.com. They also had face painting. Olivia got a big butterfly painted on the side of her face for a mere $2. All in all, a good time.
